Great nephew "Unknown" I think is ...Jim,

Great nephew "Unknown" I think is confused, or we are! Victor Delgado, as mentioned above was Marcel's younger brother. Victor also had a career in Art Effects at various studios in and around Hollywood and often worked with Marcel on projects (King Kong, for example).

Stories say that Marcel gave up a lot in the younger years of his life to work, so he could help to support his family. Marcel's formal education was compromised some due to this, so his younger brother Victor could receive proper schooling. Reports state that little brother Victor spoke english free of any noticable hispanic accent, as a result of his further schooling.

If you look again in the photo of Marcel holding the big, full sized hand of Kong armature, Victor is identified as the second fellow (in the sweater and white apron) off to the left. You'll notice too that the brothers look a lot alike. Victor survived Marcel, so it is possible that this "Unidentified" nephew never actually met his Great Uncle's older brother, who may have looked a lot like him in these elder pictures of Marcel.

It is also just possible that this nephew's comment is merely referring to the actual picture (just mentioned) up above, of the two Delgado Brothers and is just pointing out to us that he is related to Marcel's brother Victor.S. I haven’t added to this one in four years; since then I’ve been posting at https://jimlanescinedrome.com.

I never heard Mr. Delgado called Victor before. I knew him only as Marcel; the IMDb gives his birth name as Marcelo Medina Delgado. Anyhow, you’re right: he passed away in November 1976, two months shy of his 76th birthday.

Thanks again for visiting! I hope someday you’ll drop by my new site.
